Design of New Builds & Refurbishment Projects

Construction details for contractors and building control

What Does Architectural Design Entail?

Architectural design involves the initial conception of a new build or renovation project, which involves the detailed planning of the aesthetic and size of the structure, as well as ensuring it is designed in a way that ensures structural integrity to create a coherent and functional structure while meeting your specific design needs.

In all our designs our priority is to meet your aims and objectives and to keep to your budget. We aim to work with you to create a bespoke interior to reflect your personal or company image, always ensuring that we stay well within the limits of financial viability for the scheme.

Architectural Design Service

We offer either a full Design and Management Service from inception to completion or a design-only.

Among the services we offer are:

Feasibility studies
Design of new buildings
Alterations to and refurbishment of existing buildings
Computer-generated 3D visualisations
Contract administration
Consultation and design solutions regarding access and sustainability issues
Design of alterations and refurbishment schemes

We also offer consultancy services on a broad range of issues relating to design and construction.

In the course of almost any project the input of additional consultants is required and we work closely with a number of well established professionals.

The consent of both the building owner and adjoining home-owner is required before any work can be carried out on a party wall. This document must stipulate that you have permission in writing for whatever type or size project you’re working with, whether it’s remedial measures only or if there are potential future improvements too!

The legislation applies in England and Wales but does not extend into Scotland or Northern Ireland.

It’s vital to stay compliant to avoid any future disputes over who is liable for problems or damage to the wall.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I found surveyor Nick Sharp most professional and personable. His knowledgeable, speedy responses to calls and emails made for a refreshing experience. I highly recommend him and his team at Simmons Taylor Hall.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nick was a tremendous help with surveying our home and providing a timely report. He also arranged for our Party Wall Award, which was at times quite testing. He was professional and experienced all the way through. We will use him again if we ever needed too.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. In my search for a new home, STH had the dubious “privilege” of providing me with three (!) building surveys on three prospective properties. Thankfully, the third survey passed muster and gave me the assurance to complete on the purchase.

Communication with Trevor, Nick and the team was excellent. They were approachable and knowledgeable, and the sound, professional advice received was greatly appreciated. I would certainly use STH again and have no hesitation in recommending them to you.
